Lensora is a Shopify app by LooLon that lets eyewear stores ("merchants") sell prescription lenses with their frames. This policy explains what data Lensora processes for merchants and their shoppers.
Shoppers
Lens choices and prescriptions – what a shopper selects (lens type, colour, coatings) and the prescription they enter (SPH, CYL, AXIS, ADD, prism, PD and an optional note) are added to their cart and become part of the merchant's Shopify order. They are stored by Shopify in the merchant's store, not on Lensora's servers.
Uploaded prescriptions – a photo or PDF of a prescription is uploaded directly to Shopify with the cart and linked on the order. Lensora does not receive or store the file.
Saved prescriptions – a shopper can save their prescription on their own device (browser storage) for next time. Logged-in shoppers can also save up to five prescriptions to their customer account in the merchant's store. Lensora's server passes these values to Shopify and does not keep them.
Lens colour preview – the tint is drawn on the merchant's product photo in the shopper's browser. No images of shoppers are taken or processed.
Lensora uses no cookies, advertising or tracking.
Merchants
When a merchant installs Lensora, we store the shop domain and the access token Shopify gives the app, so the app can work in the store.
Lens settings, prices, designs and texts are stored in the merchant's own Shopify store (app data), not in a separate database.
To show orders, lab sheets and statistics, and to calculate the Lensora fee, the app reads orders that contain Lensora lenses from Shopify when the merchant opens the app or when fees are calculated. Order data is not copied to our servers. Lensora does not read customer names, email addresses, phone numbers or addresses.
Billing is handled by Shopify. We receive no card or bank details.
Health data
Prescriptions are health data. Lensora only passes them from the shopper to the merchant's Shopify store so the merchant can make the glasses. The merchant is responsible for how they use and keep the prescriptions in their store; Lensora acts on the merchant's behalf.
Where data is processed
Lensora's server runs in the European Union (Germany). Shopify stores the merchant's orders and customer accounts under its own privacy policy.
Deletion
When a merchant uninstalls Lensora, the app loses access immediately and the store's sessions are deleted after Shopify's shop-redact request.
When Shopify asks to delete a customer's data, Lensora removes that customer's saved prescriptions from the store. Orders remain the merchant's records.
Your rights
Shoppers can ask the store they bought from to access or delete their data. Merchants and shoppers can also write to contact@loolon.com for any privacy question.
